Lembaran Baru Kemerdekaan Negara ke-51

Kehebatan perayaan bukanlah menjadi ukuran kejayaan sesebuah negara.
Merdeka bukan hanya semata laungan 'merdeka'.

A Series of Unfortunate Events - Malaysian versions

Act 1
Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim won the P.44 by election with a tremendous majority. The people of Permatang Pauh has sent a clear message that they want DSAI to be their elected representative in Parliament more than they wanted the BN (Dato Ariff Shah) or even the unknown AKIM (Hanafi Mamat). This is due to the fact DSAI and PR has offered promises that there will be a revamp in the government with new economic agenda, reform, and wealth sharing if PR were given a chance to change government come 16 sept.

DSAI has sworn in yesterday morning exactly 10.05 am right after the morning prayer recital and soon after he was declared the newly appointed Ketua Pembangkang replacing his wife who made may for him. This was to be a new era for him being on the other side of the ring and most of the rakyat was hoping he will true to his words and contribute to the nation building in a democratic way. Unfortunately he is not, instead of using his capacity to debate on the third reading of DNA bill and give his constructive ideas on how to make the bills works in our progressing version of criminal scene investigation (CSI), he used that opportunity given to led all the oppositions MPs out of dewan on protest. What a waste of govt allowance (RM3k) for Opposition leader to begin with. He is not even dare to speak for the people yet he wanted the people to speak on his behalf.

And come 16th Sept, with the aim of becoming a premier himself, he offered opportunity to 30 BN MP's to crossover in the name of reform without having prejudice it has betrayed people's voice in those constituency involved. Doesnt it count as a clear political bribe? and worst it is planned sometimes in the month of Ramadhan. hmm... a not despicable act oneself?

Act 2

I do not know how to react when our 'beloved' PM utter this with regards to the P.44 by elections. Is he nuts? or is he in his element (sleeping)? Both seem unjustified! I dont see how UMNO/BN should remain in denial after a bigger loss in Permatang Pauh. Should we just keep smiling and ignore the big message from rakyat and keep repeating it until GE13 to realise our own mistake? By then it all will be 'nasi sudah menjadi bubur' but for me as the younger generation in UMNO that is a total betrayal to our own kind. YB Datuk Seri, you are way off in your remarks. Rakyat are hating you as much as they dont like Anwar but at least DSAI is gentleman enough to come with a cause to fight for but you, what you have in hand to offer?!

You have failed to choose the right people to represent the rakyat in last GE, and now you are talking that you still have strong mandate?! ohh god. I hope you put a stop in everything and start listening to true leaders around you like Tan Sri Muhyiddin and Rais Yatim or best to listen to your UMNO nemesis Tengku Razaleigh and TDM on what they are saying about the impact of PR Permatang Pauh victory to BN.

Please remind yourself that you won't remain forever as PM . Before the voices of sufferings, the shouts of sorrows and the sound of starvings start rising up and choose a better leader whom they feel can guide them out of this misery, you better be careful in your next antics! Otherwise, it will be a shameful ending for you!

p/s: ironically the 'next PM', MP Permatang Pauh and the current PM, MP Kepala Batas is seperated by Tasek Gelugor between them. I am a voter in Tasek Gelugor. *wink

Komentar 1 - Permatang Pauh P44 kekal milik PKR

Saya kagum!

The D-day for mother of all elections

[original posting]
As per my posting, it will be 5 hours before the polling station opened. 58459 eligible voters will cast their votes at respective polling stations to determine who will be the next MP of Permatang Pauh replacing 'resigned' Datuk Seri Azizah.
It will be a battle of david and goliath and the votes will determine whether ppl of Permatang Pauh will choose to 'memerdekakan permatang pauh' or 'memerdekakan rakyat'. May the force be with you. ;)
and for the umpteenth time (13x) my grandmother will cast her vote in bukit indera muda, permatang pauh. Not bad for an 86 years old superGrand eh?
and this is very much she said about her next voting schedule.
"hangpa toksah dok ingat kita semua boleh dok senang la ni kalau takdak barisan..."
hmmm. enough said. lol

Rangkuman cerita in one go.

"Lo! man is a state of loss" - Al Asr (103, 2nd verse)
As we are catching up with time, one could never argue time is priceless.
On sports;
Young Guns showed some mantle. Arsenal 1 - 0 West Brom Albion
It was never the performance of the year and expectations was on the line for Arsenal in this 2008/2009 EPL campaign. Indeed the young guns know how to win ugly in order to survive another 36 games on the road. Samir Nasri was the talk of town with his goal on debut and I hope he could deliver more guns to the ailing gunner which is without great experiences in the side. "Arsene knows" might come to an ending if there is no silverware on the dock but Wenger must be all prepared with his witty and articulate answers to escape the sack. I believe in him... the same believe I have in him last year. Only this time i don’t want to end up in losing faith. Go Gooners!

p/s: It's not looking very well with my yahoo fantasy line up either. I manage to score 0 pts, zilch! For an error of not saving my line up, I have wasted a potential 100 pts on the line... sigh. A bad start eh?!

Badminton Single - Quest for immortality; an Olympic gold
The only hope of Malaysian gold medal conceded defeat in a very humbling style. I bet the pressure on Chong Wei was too much to handle as he was carrying the hope of all Malaysians. It would be a sweet 51st Merdeka celebrations but unfortunately it never come. For all his tireless effort in semifinal, he never can transform the same desire on the finale day. Ouch, Hurts a lot! Tactical errors (I believe he should have been more positive/attacking play), a lot of unforced errors which give Lin Dan easy points and most likely the pressure was so high as he was also fighting thousands of Lin Dan supporters at the venue kept him out of focus. Too bad he could never really show his true potential but I wish him the best to come and perhaps with this experience and the right attitude, he will achieve his dream in London 2012. God's will.

But perhaps the best to conclude Chong Wei effort is how the sport has broaden the integration amongst Malaysian and frankly; it showed that we need to rely on each other's shoulder in order to be successful as a nation. Misbun can be proud to have Chong Wei as his protege and both has shown that spirit of Malaysia Boleh can bring one to the top of the world. Syabas.

On Politics;

Permatang Pauh P.44 - Mother of all by elections!
This would be the biggest challenge for BN to date in rambling PKR's safest seat out of their hand. Even though another party also contesting for a 3 corner fights but it is clear this by election will see Anwar facing his former youth chief, Ariff Shah when Anwar himself was the Permatang Pauh UMNO division chief. Ariff Shah may not as popular as Anwar but indeed with a good 'serviceman' track records, he will give Anwar a good run of money. Definitely, both are confidence with a victory and Anwar seems to have an upper hand in his former constituency which has been 'kept' safe by his wife for the past 9 years.

The trend of voters on this by-election will reflect how much have the ‘rakyat’ responses to the recent GE. If the majority on Anwar's court rising, BN must identify their weakness and move forward while if the majority on Anwar is slimming, it is about time for Anwar to look into becoming a good MP rather than portraying himself as the next PM.

UiTM 10% quota issue
I wonder whether Tan Sri Khalid experienced sleepless night when he made his infamous ‘slip of the tongue’ about UiTM. To be caught in tangle with the students of UiTM who ‘bravely’ march themselves to the MB’s Office and delivered memorandum indeed was a new experience. I could not stop thinking why on earth Tan Sri Khalid wanted to make such statement in the first place. Worse, I am also pondering why UiTM in all ‘melatah teruk’ even as the PM himself stated that the MB doesn’t have any power on that policy. I am a product of ITM/UiTM. I believe in my potential and what has UiTM contributed in me as an asset of nation's human capital. Be it as a Young Officer in the reserves, a mechanical engineer by profession or as a silat cekak malaysia exponent.

And now the VC also caught in this ‘drama’ and is making worse to start legal action against the MB. Ohh my… tell me about it!

If I were the VC, this would be my response to the issue:

how unfortunate, i am not the VC. sigh.

As i accept it with hurtful heart..

Datuk A Kadir Jasin is a very critical writer. In his latest posting, he did mention about UMNO, its current scenario and the survival of the party to keep relevant. I believe what he has said is true and very straight for us (re: UMNO members) to ponder.

i have this comment for him.

"Salams Datuk AKJ

maybe this is the only choice for now? i dunno but i'm deeply sad. :(
