Ask Morkymoqq (4) : Should we pardon Chin Peng and accept his apology after all the things he did and let him free to come back and die as Malaysian, should we not?

Dear morky,

I know the question may sound tricky and sensitive. Unfortunately I couldnt stop myself from asking because recently the issue has been raised again and again by certain quarters of 'good Samaritans' of this country. I understand there would never be an ending to this subject but for goodness sake, can we have a closure and move on?! I wish to get your raw opinion on this matter because for now a good night sleep without fear and favour is crucial. I'm no longer want to become a prisoner of my own state of mind . Please enlighten me.

Dear Mdm Bintang Jula Juli,

First, I lauded your guts for raising the matter up.  Some of us just 'chicken out' and prefer to keep silence rather than getting a clear explanation. I understand your feeling, you are not a prisoner of your own mind. In fact I believe you ought to do what you suppose to do because you cherish your life and your family more than this awakening issue. Fyi, this issue is like a ghost of the past that keep haunting... and it will haunt us until the soul rest in peace. Chin Peng might be just Casper the Friendly Ghost or maybe he is the mischievous Uncle Ghostly Trio - Stretch, Stinkie and Fatso....or maybe! he is Stretch, Stinkie and Fatso combine in the past and now came back to play the role of Casper in order to make his voice heard once again...
(chuckles) apologies, now I think I'm the one who's my own mind prisoner... :)

Chin Peng (CP) was refused entering Malaysia because his hands still soak with blood of many Malaysians. CP was never a Malaysian in the first place hence the thought of having his quest to die a Malaysian is inconclusive. I have my reservation for CP still. He might not be the man he used to be, but his beliefs and idealism still running strong through his veins. Even his apologies is not wholeheartedly sincere.

Then why we need to entertain him? In the name of humanity? Is he humane  enough to be given mercy after what Bintang Tiga has done under his command? Have he feel remorsed for what he did? - Please refer back to his 'apologies'. Nevertheless some quarters of us still feel he deserved a second chance as a Malaysian.

I am not strongly against the idea but giving pardon to CP without a full trial and tribunal against him is ethically wrong. He is responsible  to the innocence killings of many Malaysians during the Emergency (1948-1960) and whether their fights were because what the Communist believe in did not make killing innocence civilians and security forces legal. Matlamat tidak menghalalkan cara, right?  He should stand for trial as criminal of war like Pol Pot, Khieu Sampan, Karadzic or even Saddam. After justice prevail only then he deserved his fair share of Malaysian like many other.

History is a good lesson for the future. Chin Peng himself was a towering figure amongst his men. I never argue that. He was the commander who fights against establishment because he wanted Malaysia under a communist rule. When he was offered amnesty during 1955, he simply refused because he still believe he can gain Malaysian Independence through his 'war of terror'. Unfortunately, Malaysia got her independence 2 years later under the wisdom of Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra. At last, 'bold and brawn' outwit 'blood and terror'. Soon after, Chin Peng should have asked his men to stand down and pledge themselves to the King and country yet they CHOOSE to continue their struggle in deep forest. PKM remained illegal since and was considered a threat to the nation and the King thus should be eliminated at all cause. This fights was ended when both party went for a truce and later signed a peace agreement in 1989. Nonetheless, Chin Peng remains a persona non grata in the history of our country.

As George Santayana said: "those who forget the lessons of history will be punished by making the same mistakes over and over again". 

There are few sympathizer towards Chin Peng. After all what can an old sick man do. Even he could not move himself properly albeit toppling the country. As much I admit idealism, justice, peace, axis of evil, sacrifice, terror, emotional and rational, yin and yang co-exist; giving pardon to Chin Peng WITHOUT condition in the name of humanity would only send a wrong signal to future generation.

It is like saying ok to killings because what you believe in and hoping you'd live long enough to seek mercy from those who were affected by your inhumane action.

Malaysia not bodoh, Malaysia Boleh!

Ask Morkymoqq (3) : How MC96 fair in Futsal Tourney?

Last weekend, the annual MCOBA Futsal was held in Subang Sportplanet. Team 96 consists of 8 enthutiastic players whom believe they still got a go in Futsal present themselves as early as 8.30 am sunday morning. The mood was pretty casual. It seems everyone of us has set our goal in reaching the finals no matter what stage it would be (cup/plate). it was a bit unfortunate this year as our hell of a manager wasnt around to manage the team thus yours truly has acted as manager in charge for the tourney hoping he will break a jinx and make MC96 proud again. For the record Mc96 won cup competition once in 2007 and the sweet memories of winning the pretigious cup was still fresh in one's mind.

The players were all focus for the competition. Our captain, Zef came a bit later with his usual excuses but since he's the boss... what the heck!. We started our game with not enough kit to wear. Our traditional man utd it went missing. Some has to wear other red shirts just to look the same. Things were not good since the beginning. The sign was there for us to see. We started our game against our senior MC94. In a typical fashion of a first gamer, everyone got little bit shackle. The lack of composure proved vital as Che where missed his first chance on goal. It could be a different game altogether had our 'torres' produced a more clinical finish. When you miss a great chance you'll make to pay for it. We conceded a goad in set piece. It was a collective mistake for not man marking the opponent and we made to pay the price. Final whistle MC96 0 - MC94 1.

The 2nd game was betweem MC96 with MC97 again resulting the same scoreline. Again, we were down by a setpiece goal and we were penalised for not tightly man marking. MC97 capitalise on our lack of focus and got their goal with only two shots on target. We needed to show our true grits. We need to comeback in the 3rd game. If we ever to lose, that would be the end of it. Fortunately, the team re focus and get things going. With an early goal, we managed to find our rhythm and played our game. We were more organised this time and managed to slot four times past the helpless keeper of MC99. This was a good comeback for the lads. Final score MC96 4 - MC99 0. The last game in premilinary round was vital, it will determine the standing for us to proceed to the next stage. Unfortunately, battling against junior team 10 years younger took a tolls of ourselves. We were well beaten 1 to 3 in the last game and ended fourth in the grouping. We conceded that we were only a deserving plate quaterfinalist. :(

In the quater final stage, we were beaten again by 2 goals margin. So that was the end of it folks for MC96 journey. I think the best to conclude for the whole outings, we were outwitted by better teams. We were not good enough.. and we are VETERAN materials after all. sob.. sob.. sob..

Ask Morkymoqq (2) : 2 Bukit 1 Batang

Dear morky,

Yesterday's tri by-elections proved yet again that BN hasn't grasp back people's heart. The status quo remained with 1 BN - 2 PR. It is so obvious at the current state, BN is no longer the ONLY choice for the voters in representing them. With the by-election results stand at PR 4 to BN 1 after the 'political tsunami' last year, BN as a coalition of respectives etnic-based parties have to make great reforms and big changes within themselves before hit back for another round of by-election. I do hope we should take a break (from by-election) and focus more on the upcoming recession crisis. Nevertheless we could only hope, the destiny written is not ours to know. Btw, what's your take on this political dynamics which has occured to our nation thus far?

Dear Encik Pengundi 'Hantu',

I wish you well and hopefully you are safe and sound back home after 'doing  your part' at respective polling centre. I'm sure you were one of the phantom voters who managed to get your way through and casted your vote. Unfortunately your vote didn't help to swing any result to the ruling party. Unless you were casting in Batang Ai, were you?! hmmm... Don't bother to answer.

Well my take on the current political state is simple. The ruling party aka BN have to accept that they are now taking on a formidable pact (PR) that have great will, determinations and people aspirations in their hand. PR is no longer used to be Barisan Alternatif, Gagasan Rakyat or even Angkatan Perpaduan Ummah alliance anymore which BN can simply taken head on. PR is a real deal that offer a CHOICE to rakyat which BN should respect and be cautious too.

BN got a clear signal from 2 bukits and a thorough soul searching has to be undertaken within the component parties. It should be taken as a collective responsibilities amongst the components and not putting any blaming to respective party for such lost. Yet the root cause of the problem must be address. If the problem lies in UMNO with its power crazy, racist remarks, corruption and other negative perception, the UMNO president and the Chairman of BN has to take swift action. If the problem lies in MIC as irrelevant party to represent Indians and the need to change the undemocratic election of its leader then by all means the BN Chairman and other party president amongst BN election has to speak up and make changes. If the Chinese voices were swinging to the 'dark' side, MCA, Gerakan and the other Chinese based BN component party need the address the issue in a proper manner not simply 'summarising' up that the Chinese want to be heard more in the government thus asking extra cabinet seat etc. Dont ever betray the compromises made by our fore fathers about respecting others whilst earning your self respect.

Overall, my take  can be summarised as per my friend message in 8 long smses as follows;

"Voters under 40 years old rejected BN totally! BN needs a new way of campaigning approach that won't misuse government media to potray themselves as gods whilst the others are utter demons. It has backfired and created sympathy votes towards PR. People now want facts, intellectual discussion and new hope in a gentlemanly way of campaigning. Then, rakyat will surely come back to BN "

It is about time for BN  to come with fresh faces and new icon. BN leaders must understand their Y.B. title is no longer a Yang Berhormat but a title that come with great responsibility, amanah and people friendly.

I would prefer them to be address Yang Berkhidmat instead. :)

Ask morkymoqq (1) : The current political scenario

Dear morky,

I am sure you are also surprised with the current development in our nation political scenario in particular the collapsed of 11  months old 'Kerajaan PR' in Perak. I believe the whole thing will setup and transpire a bigger hoo- haa later in the month whilst we should have put our effort to face the current world economic breakdown. It seems the downturn do not influence most of our politician to stop politicking. what is your say, En Morky?

First and foremost, thank you for your question, I like you name, it's kind of remembering me of Mr Frodo of LOTR Trilogy... oh never mind.

Well, actually it is hard for me to give my humble opinion on the current development but i can conclude that our nations have becoming like a king's jester. Our kind of politics have undermining peoples' hope and aspiration for a "chance" in Perak Govt as it decided  to "chance " itself. Basically that's how politician works and in fact they are following the book really well by hopping to a better position. The political landscape of this country has evolved tremendously following Mac 2008 but not to the extend it has developed to a more principal and matured scene. Indeed it has becoming a platform for 2 axis (BN and PR) to show their strength. I wonder myself when the whole political drama would stop? Is the people signal not enough to demonstrate that to survive in a political battle, one has to be accountable, honest, responsible and have integrity in undertaking his job? I am very sadden that most our politician has put their interest to gain/remain in power more priority rather than servicing the rakyat. Pity us.. pity rakyat.
