Hai Muhaimin Ya Muhaimin.

Hai Muhaimin Ya Muhaimin
Pantas sungguh masa berlalu, ye nak.
Belum puas babah tidurkan kamu di pangkin
Kini kau sudah pandai menyebut e mak

Hai Muhaimin Ya Muhaimin
Kasih sayang kami padamu tiada tara
Doa kami agar kau jadi orang mukminin
Berbuat baik di muka dunia tidak berkira

Hai Muhaimin Ya Muhaimin
Kau buka pintu rezki keluarga
Sesungguhnya doa kami telah diamin
Kehadiran mu tepat pada masa dan ketika

Hai Muhaimin Ya Muhaimin.
Babah pasti merindui saat-saat itu
Tatkala kamu bergolek mencari posisi
Ketika kau tidur di pangkuan ku.
Indah waktu itu, nak.. jika kau mampu mengerti perasaan babah ketika itu.
Saban hari saban waktu aku tak akan pernah jemu ingin mengendongmu.

Hai Muhaimin Ya Muhaimin
Cepat benar kau membesar, ye nak.
Kalau lah aku mampu hentikan waktu....

p/s: tribute to Muhaimin. He turns 3 months today

16 October 2010

Guess we never meant to be...

Salam,

Today 16th October 2010, my Muhaimin turn a month. Yeay! He is really gaining much spending time at his nenek's doing nothing only milk, sleep and poo poo.

hi world!

I haven't seen him almost a week and look forward to spending time with him later tomorrow when I drive down to Pekan. -On my way from Penang now-. Thank goodness we hv technology to transfer data and pictures. Those pictures of him kept me occupied everyday in his absence. Tks to the wonder of MMS.

In all the happiness celebrating my son turn 1 month, I'm saddened to received a sorrow note. The passing of a friend who I never knew in person yet I always find inspiration and mesmerised with his photography works.

Taufiq Shariff - a guy who even share the same family name.

Some of our friend joked that we are brothers but I guess we never were to be in the end.
His passing was due to brain tumor and cancer and I am deeply hurt that someone so talented and creative like him had an early call. I guess God's love supersede any humans love towards him.

Nevertheless, we are still blessed by his presence in this world though on a short period. I believe he has live his life to the fullest and for all his photography wonders I just want to say my thank you.

Taufiq,
I hope u will be happy up there, doing what u do best - Capturing beautiful moment and now very near to your 'Pencipta'

I am sorry for not taking the opportunity to know u better. To understand u as a person rather only acknowledge u by your works. Your passing will be a loss to world of creative photography, missed to your love ones, to your close friend and indeed to a complete stranger like me. However, you will always left sweet memories and have touched so many life.

Though we never know in person but the opportunity to have a conversation with u in FB, agreed on few things that happened in fotopages and successfully left my comment on your work on blogspot will be cherished as my best moment with you.

Now that you have left us, I guess I hv to see life differently. Not on a negative note but to seize every opportunity that come upon; carpe diem!

Taufiq Shariff; I guess we really never meant to be...
Death has do us apart. Al Fatihah
taufiq shariff  r.i.p.
all pictures belongs to him and taken from his fotopages

In tears,
Mohsein Shariff
p/s: u can enjoy more of taufiq beautiful works at his blog.

June would be an exciting month

June always has a place in our family's heart. Early part of June is to commemorate mom. Her birthday falls on the 4th of June. I can recall that mom's birthday fall the same date as Agong birthday and it's a public holiday back then but recently Agong has 'reschedule' his birthday to 5th, hence the celebration for mom has tone down a little bit. Sorry mom.

The middle month of June is another birthday celebration and it's Ayah's birthday. His birthday falls on the 15th and coincidently my mother in law also celebrate her birthday  too. Suprisingly Yusry KRU also celebrate his birthday on the 15th and a lesser known figure, abg boy (my cousin) share the same day. Pheww what a day to be born, eh?

In the month of June, a list of friends also celebrating their birthday. Chacha share the same birthday as Mak (4th), Wiera (5th) Cikun (6th), Kichi (10th), Apek (11th). From 21st to 25th June onwards, Sam, Bunyok, Cop , Your truly and Benut will celebrate our birthday subsequently. Not to forget Eena celebrating her on the 28th. Thank you facebook for the birthday reminder!

But the best day of all should be 24th June lah coz that would the day the music wont die. Yours truly will celebrating this year's birthday in style. Wearing a memento from s africa. :P

Ahh.. Syigim a good wife to my good friend also share the same birthday with me. So that'll make us the indisputable duo.

What else good in June?
World cup fever is coming to town. what else u expect?

That's my super gran!

My grandma, Tok experienced her first stroke attack 3 weeks ago. It was a mild hit but having said that; at the age of 76, she suffered the attack in agony. She lost control of her right upper body and fainted after her blood pressure hit 180/120. Lucky she did not collapse head down and my sister and auntie were around when the unfortunate happened. She survived another day and we were thankful to God. Syukur, Alhamdulillah.

After the news came to us, my family rushed back to Penang and very concern about her health. Again, she showed a strong will to overcome her condition and illness and never let us worry about her so much. Being the eldest daughter, my mom is obliged to look after my Tok. However being Tok; she never wanted to leave her home in Pala Bukit and live with us in KL. For her, her mengaji and bardah are most important rather spend time doing absolute nothing in KL. Furthermore, she would miss her mengaji friends and her 2 great grandsons whom she cook dinner almost everyday. She has made a point for my sister to come back to her house for dinner every weekdays. That's my Super Gran

Tok was a single mother at the age of 28. In order to feed her 2 children, she worked as a labour with Jabatan Pertanian in the morning and was stationed at Bukit Merah, Permatang PauhTok was one of the pioneer labour who cultivated R&D paddy such as padi mahsuri and padi malinja which were popular in those days. Whilst in the evening, she'd continue to earn money by renting  1/2 relong of  bendang at her village. That's how she managed to send my mom to Sekolah Melayu Kampung Baru until she graduated as a teacher in teacher's college and my uncle to an English School in Bukit Mertajam. Her struggle to upbring 2 children alone during that difficult period was something i could not imagine myself  doing yet she and  the kids survived.

By mid 1980s, when my family were better off and my mom already settled as a teacher. My dad decided it was high time to ask Tok to retire and let her spend more time learning Islamic Studies rather than one hard job in the paddy field. She then became a full time Quran Teacher for our Kampung Folks.

Tok was a strong character herself. Maybe because of the life and experience she went through. Nevertheless she remained the loving and caring tok to me. I still remember herself coming back home after a tiring day at work with her hand full of basket (her thermos and tupperware of her lunch meal) she brought along. Yet all the tiredness and weary seem shoved away when she saw us coming towards. We would be shouting "tok balik, yeay.. tok balik yeay" and all in her eyes was a clear joy. That moment have lived through me over these years, tok

When we did a scan on her brain (MRI) and other relevant medical checkup, we found out there was a tiny blood clot on her left brain that explained her right body's numb . Her blood pressure remained high but apart from that she has a healthy heart and kidneys. Again, we were relieved. The doctor advised her to take some rest and gave her medical prescriptions. She also has to start physiotherapy session in order to recover and stay fit. Indeed she was very positive and told the doctor that she will go back and teach Quran lesson once she get better.

Like Old Habit Die Hard, Tok is recuperating well,
now she even can raise her right arm and walk slowly.
Tok, you are coming back soon. I am convince.
You are one helluva Super Gran! Love u.

I turned big three zero.

Yeah, I turned big three zero last wednesday. It came as no big bruhahaha... coz I have been long waiting for the moment to come through. Mid life crisis?! hell no!! ehhh wait... a little bit la. It's actually a rude awakening for me to realise that I cannot fcuk with my life no more. Now it's time for real, now it's time for me to look beyond myself as 'tangan ini sudah menjadi punca rezeki institusi keluarga nukleusku'

The warm wishes came as the clock ticked midnite. I'm sure everyone's happy I turned a year older and wiser?! (hmmm). I am not afraid to move forward yet I wont back off to look back in time as well... wise kan?! For all the wishes, I can only say my heartfelt thank you, because you guys acknowledge my existence in your inner circle. Terima kasih and you guys really rocks!!!

What did i get myself for my birthday? Well first off a new HP! I've been using my sony ericsson W700 phone for the past 3 years and 'she' has served me well. Kinda off sad to replace her but as someone put to me.. "tukar jelah hp buat penghadang pintu tu.." I somehow 'termakan pujuk' and decided to give it a go.. and now i am a lucky owner of one blackberry bold smart phone. Cool eh?!

Smart phone user considered smart ke?! - picture taken from rim blackberry

My other half bought me a cool emperio armani fragrance. It added to my perfume collections which are now stand to 9. Wohoo.. now who is so vain afterall! The rest of the family got me a nice orange cake which was presented during the night bash at famous thai. Indeed it was a rocking celebrations after all.

My perfumes collections thus far. From body shop range to bvlgari aqua marine.

So who says 30s dont rock? i already feel the jiggy with it babeh.

2 March 2009

It was really a very good plan! yeayy

Prologue - Big Mistake
0015H 27/02/09

It's 15 minutes past. I was finishing my routine 'internet session' to dedicate one special posting to my milla as today's her birthday. However i only realised that i was quarter hour late to wish her in person when the clock tick midnight. Without putting myself in more trouble I ran down the staircase as hard as i can but to find my loved already buat muka chom (smirked her face) due to my lateness. "Oh no! One big mistake already? Now how?!", utter me to myself. As i tried everything to please her for my unconcern attitude; my mind was already working, and it's working real fast! "Damage was done, my dear and now you need a backup plan to make things all right again..." my inner me was telling me right.

Chapter One - My Destiny
1030H 27/02/09

As we were reaching the final moment of our meeting at Pelita Subang Jaya, my mind just can stop thinking what's the plan for my reconciliation. I need to do something right and it must have the element of surprises. The fact that i love surprises made me more excited and believe it can work through. First stop was Cake Sense. I need to get the best cake for my surprise and it has to be something my milla would love. Between a mousse cake and a tiramisu; which is more preferrable, eh?! After a short consultation with (thank you! you know who you are) I settled with tiramisu. I hope my judgement was right.

Next, the nearest florist. Woman loves flowers and it melts a woman's heart. A simple red rose with her favourite lavender should be the right combination to cheer her up. When i was in UK, i sent a bouquet of roses on her birthday thru' online services but this time it's too late to arrange for one. Afterall, i need a fresh idea to set the mood straight. My mind was juggling for ideas.. hmmm.

It's getting noon (and it's friday) and i rushed myself to Memory Lane to get her a simple yet beautiful birthday card. There wasnt much choice for wifey. Time was against me. Nevertheless as i always said, tuhan mempunyai esa, manusia mempunyai asa; my luck was with me. Amongst the limited choice that i have, there's stood one lovely card that later would complete my destiny. It was indeed the right choice.

Chapter Two - Everything in Place
1200H 27/02/09

This was how the suprise would work. A cake with lovely birthday wishes, a pretty red rose which was beautifully wrapped and a meaningful birthday card with my personal touching words. All-in-one go were placed in the fridge for Milla to find. Buleh terkejut kan?! ;) Cool eh..
I've tried to put everthing at one place but due to the limited space, i have compensated the card. Afterall, It should stand on its own somewhere in the fridge as you could see in these exhibits;

exhibit 1: tiramisu

exhibit 2: rose and lavender

exhibit 3: ambil kedudukan

Perfecto!

Chapter Three - A Perfect End
1755H 27/02/09

It was nearly 6 pm. I havent got any call from her yet. Kind of worried though but i convinced myself that everything will turn well. The phone rang and it's her. "Yes my darling, you want me to come and pick you up now... What?! You need to stay a bit longer?! Why?! ohhh ok.. then i will wait for you at mom's, ok! Ok.. cheerio. Love u, yang.." Ohh Darn.. how come it turn out like this. Is she dissappointed with me still?! Cant be.. my milla never merajuk that long. Now i become a bit anxious. This waiting game was killing me. As day turned dark, came one S.O.S call i've been hoping for. My brother and 2 lil cousins were somewhere in Shah Alam and i need a rescue plan to save the day. With their helps and witty ideas the plan sticks with little make do. We prayed hard it turns good... and indeed it was really a perfect ending.

Epilogue - The Secret of Lasting Marriage
2145H 27/02/09

Suprise!!!! That was the signal to let everybody out from their hiding place. Milla was confused yet overhelmed. I knew she never expected we came out with this crazy ideas. Yes, she cried. There was a tearful joy in her eyes. Everybody did their part and they did it well.. we had the last laugh and we really enjoy the moment in making her smile again and i, of course simply proud of myself. As we had our dinner and have a taste of tiramisu, i could sense that she fell in love with me once more... :)

7 January 2009

moving in to a new start

It all started in April 2008, when both of us decided it was high time for us to move away from the family after a year of marriage. I, on one hand a bit reluctant to move away. Being a selfish ignorant brat made me settled around my family thus position me to stay put. However, after deeply thought and big discussion between myself and my other half, I felt this would be a good opportunity to experience new life at a different place.

A great search around Shah Alam was made. Major factors such security, distance to milla's office, near to marketplace, coffee beans wifi etc were considered. We would have end up at a rental house behind milla's office whose the owner was kind enough to offer RM900 rental per month. However the plan wasnt materialise after seeing the place and later found out that the area was formerly a 'loji' for tut tut tut... ewww.

We put up more effort searching for the right home and an idea did came along for us to purchase a townhouse somewhere in Section 9 Shah Alam - Seri Mahligai. Ironically, it's kind of 'the place' in those days when i was still a student in ITM. A sacred place for only the riches and now we were thinking to own one! hah hah hah.

Opportunity did came along. When the agent called saying that there was a house on sale in Sri Mahligai, we quickly made our way as if that was the last one to offer. Without further hesitant and with the help of our 'kejiranan'- Bunyok and Amy Winehouse, we decided - YES, this is to be our home. Our love nest. Paper was signed and deposit was put on the table and the next thing to get done is acquring home loans

I never deal with bank on home loans, worst never had a hire purchase loan in my history book. This was kind a new thing to me but i decided whatever it is, the loans must be applied from a bank nearby. I dont want later if we face trouble, we need to travel as far just to get a paper sign. Quite a number of bank did offer a deal but in the end after much consideration, i settled with CIMB- Islamic home flexi loan (ini free ad nih.. kena claim commision)

Loan settled, now another major part was to have some rennovation on the house based on our needs and desired. I dont want to be all messy and full, a nice and cosy place would do. In the hand of our contractor , Pure Progressive Builders Sdn Bhd (yeah! another free ad) we put our trust and money! It turn up well even with number of hiccup along the way when i have to get my ass up to the management to explain to them about some delays on construction works that obviously effected my neighbours life all over. Lucky me, the neighbours do understand and sport enough to compromise my rennovation works and the works lasted till 2 days before Hari Raya.

As the new house ready to receive the new owner, now come to most difficult part of all - getting yourself mentally and physically ready to move out to the new place. It took us many many many months to settle that we need to move in to our new house. Lot of things occured along the way and postponed our moving and I do appreciated the patience and wisdom of my Milla in handling this moving in issue.

In the end, after so many months and so many tears..
we moved into our new home on the eve of maal hijrah
Should this be a  new start to a new beginning?
god's will.

28 September 2008

It will be a 'sweeter' hari raya after all

Pics of yester years...

This year 'syawal' celebration won't be any ordinary Aidil fitr. At least it will never be my typical First Day raya celebration. There wont be much hype about it becoz of the followings:

1. No 'Official' open house on the card to look forward.
2. A limitation of local 'kuih raya' and satay to taste for.
3. Children wont be flocking around for duit raya.
4. Low turnout from the regular guest.

hmmm, i wonder if i am all prepared for such new experience?
For sure it will be a small gathering of us. - anak2 shariff omar.

I am looking forward to enjoying the new 'life'. Not that i am anti social or whateva but in the last 20 over years, i have been a loyal servant to my Dad open house on EVERY 1st day Hari raya! (except my study years and of course last year at my in law's). Welcoming guest, offering foods and giving out 'duit raya' was part and parcel of yester-years. It was a great memories indeed but over the years it has become one 'stereotype act' of me - the same old script which u have to go through years after years without fail. (except my study years and of course last year at my in law's, :b)

I never anticipate it will stop so soon. At least not this year. The fact my wifey never had her hand of the excitement on how we celebrate our eid disappointing me a bit.
Never mind. She will have her share in the future, I hope. *grin*

This year syawal will be a new kind of celebration, anyway. It will be more time for 'us' (read: anak2 shariff omar) to spend more quality time together. There will be more time for mohon maaf session with mom and dad. There will be more time also for a family potrait in our dashing baju melayu's and there will be more time to sit down and enjoy our raya meals.

And most important, there will be enough precious time for us in each other's company- PRICELESS ... I could only smile and be grateful. :)

29 July 2008

tribute to kak ayu.

kak ayu dearie,

It seems only yesterday when we were young, adolescent and having much fun together. Now you have grown up and within the next 4 days will embark into another important journey of your life – your dream marriage. I must admit that we were never the closest siblings. In fact I used to regard you as my nemesis, in getting the best attention from ayah and mak. ;) At time, as the elder sibling, I would be given the benefit of doubt by ayah and mak when things (read: quarrelling) get out of hand. Even though on some occasions we were merely ‘having fun’ but as you ended up crying, I definitely will be in trouble due to my seniority. Erghh. I reckon those events had led us to be much apart of our growing up years.

As we grew older, I observed that you have become wiser and stronger . You have changed a lot in response of the environment around you. You have build up a belief that all responsibilities are bestowed upon you. Thus, you have developed into a strong character yourself in dealing with other siblings. The tough character made you more responsible, aware and helpful in many ways. It reflected when you dedicated yourself for my wedding reception last year and indeed I promised myself to take the same honours on yours this year. Terima kasih kak ayu

kak ayu,
You have grown into a better person. Even at times you could be the most difficult person to handle; I believe it is because you developed a perception that ayah and mak love you less. The truth is, ayah and mak gave all the love for us equally and always in presence during our up and down. I remembered how mak has to travel down to Malacca when you were sick and ayah is such a sport, never question what you want to do in life. Certainly, these make me believe that they have all the love for you and always want the best for you. It has come in form of Azizi and they repaid their love by having faith that Azizi completes you.

Honestly, I am scared of losing you. I know you can’t accommodate much of your time for the family anymore. I suppose kak chik, baby and bangchik will miss you the most. How good of you taking care of them, how happy they were when you spent them on cinema and Japanese food and how sweet you could be when you guys were quarreling and reconciled. But we could never be that selfish, couldn’t we? For that, we are accepting abg jiji with open arms into the family. :)

"Pena ini tak mungkin akan berhenti kerana abang rasa masih banyak memori pahit dan manis yang telah kita lalui untuk dinukilkan. Biarlah itu semua terus terpahat dalam sanubari kita dan menguatkan semangat dan tekad kita untuk terus hidup dan menyatukan keluarga… "

Kak ayu,
I could never imagine that we have build a much better brother and sister relationship over these years. Whatever the mistakes, difference and challenge that we have gone through, please bare in mind that you are my sister and always will be…

Selamat Pengantin baru.
we wish you a wonderful and blissful marriage.

22 March 2008

ayah, now you are officially back to us. :)

Ayah dearie,

eventhough by now you are no longer a statesman, (after devoting yourself to the public for the past 26 years) you can stand tall and proud of your own achievement.

ppl might want to say many things about your exclusion, but i was there with you when things happen not in our favour. I do understand one thing, ayah.. your loyalty is unquestionable and i am proud to have one father who has the dignity and honour to let go even at the expense of his own future. No worries ayah... God have other plan for us.

i would always cherish those experience, being there during that difficult time when you were torn between your own interest and the future of rakyat. And at that particular moment, when you know you would fade away in time... you still have the thought about others.

Even when my tears running down me, it never soften you to make up you mind. You have made the decision and you are honoured to stand by it..

ahhh.. Ayah! you deserved a medal of a lion's heart!

And when you say it loud, that you are proud of me too... i just can't hold myself any longer and yes! we did cried together. "air mata anak lelaki mahal harganya" and i believe it really worthy to shed tears with you, ayah

Ayah,

i wish i could send you a swansong goodbye in TG. it will be your 7th and i also believe it will be your last after all. However it never occur as what i plan and have in mind. Never mind ayah.. It was never meant to be for you..

"itulah cerita politik.. sekejap kamu di atas, kapan sedar kamu sudah berada dibawah.

roda hidup pasti akan terus berpusing.. dan berpusing... dan berpusing."

Ayah,

now you are a free man. We will welcome you home coz your loves one are there waiting for you..
"ayah, abang sayang ayah."
