"Pemuda Masuk Kampung", salah gambaran

kita ikuti ulasan seorang pembikin filem, Dr Mahadi J Murat di sini;

Tempat lama lagikan dikenang, Inikan pula 'The Malay College' ku

The OBW 09 in Kuala Kangsar was a special event in my calendar year. I decided to go back a bit later rather than the usual late friday evening lurching down to Kuala Kangsar. I opted for more leisure drive down PLUS highway with two comrades, adiq and mafia on Saturday morning though. It should have been a fourth member to complete our 'beatles' tour to KK but we were dumped by him in the last minutes. Too bad! Nevertheless, the show must go on and we were already there in KK by noon.

As usual, the first pit stop would be the school itself. I wonder after so many years of going back to koleq, the same feeling of anxiety still there to be felt. I wonder if its only me but the eagerness shown on the face of my two pals reflects that we shared a common sentiment. Our arrival was not received by thousand of adoring fans but rather a quiet mood. Strange that it seems but for the past years of MCOBA Old Boys Weekend, the tranquil atmosphere was too obvious to be seen. Maybe of the nation recession effects or perhaps the OBW has lost its touch to the old boys?! I couldn't answer but I do hope this cooling period would rather temporary and the spirit of Old boys weekend would be restored.

After a few hi's and hello's to fellow old boys. It's time for some souvenirs! This year quite a number of old boys turned fund raising committee to help their adopted sports team. I decided to help the Mighty Ducks Fund Raising Campaign at their Kapet's Yengko and ordered 3 t shirt. It cost me like RM200 for 3.. sigh, budak koleq memang pandai manipulate yet you still feel obliged to give a supporting hand... rite, Hope it really helps, guys! :)

Kadir, Tony and Ayul was there even earlier. They enjoyed themselves capturing pictures at the field. While others like Old Man and Opeq was on the field playing hockey, Senoq and the cricketeers willling to put themselves under the sun on the innings. Geng Alphard (ajis, abe, bachin, bothaq, buja modaq and zef) were nowhere to be seen. Probably still sleeping after a night out in Ipoh.

Now perut has started singing, it's time for lunch.

We should had our lunch at the favourable Saudiah. Unfortunate, it was full house. Even our former juniors back in koleq didn't care to offer their seat anymore. Well over the years, you will lose your King of School title when the junior will become super senior and you ended as another old boys. How time has flies and you could see yourself now 'duduk sama rendah dan berdiri sama tinggi' with everyone. We conceded defeat and left to Seri Kangsar for our lunch. It was a good decision as the place was even better and spacious for the 8 of us. The food was not bad either. During lunch most of the talks was about tonite FA cup semis which 3 of the big four will be playing.

It's 5pm and I was preparing myself for our annual football match with the F1. We have started the tradition since 3 years ago by having an exhibition match with the F1. It was a good call anyway as it excites people to come back to koleq and have a go again on Padang Prep School. Lucky it wasn't raining. The F1 looked rather jaded from another game much earlier in the morning. That shouldn't be a case to underestimate them as some of them were really darn good! We were closed to lose but in such situation, experience did count. We manage to beat them by a slim 3-2 scoreline. Overall, main bola after long hiatus memang pancit giler!

gambar sebelum pancit! courtesy modaq

That nite was rather ordinary but we still manage to get everyone together for dinner at Benteng. Not a bad idea though as there was a fireworks celebration at Lembah in conjunction with the royal highness Sultan Perak's birthday. We joined the other for the concert a bit later. Some songs were refreshing but overall the concert was never up to the standard it was used to be. Maybe a lil bit of tweaking need to be done somewhere. I would rather spending my time watching Arsenal playing Chelsea on FA semi final. Though the young guns was attacking all cylinders, it was never meant for them to be in the final. They lost to a stronger Chelsea 1 -2. I could not take it anymore and found my way back to Safari for a snoring session with Che mie.

Sunday came by, i was late for the traditional rugby match at the field. The night before some of the rugby boys (OB) were planning to have another back to back win against the boys since 2000 but against all odds, the present boys survived the demolishing and indeed they themselves turned winner by a slightest margin (2 pts conversion since both teams has 3 tries a piece). I left padang and hopped for a few shots with Kadir and Ayul who were the regular models. Had a brief encounter with Hasnul, the wife of Cikun and we talked about life and family. I excused myself when adiq came calling for our journey back home.

There was no drama nor I am a drama queen myself. But life in Koleq will always be interesting even it was only for one short weekend. Going to miss koleq once again..

As always, MCKK will open its door to the custodians for as long as another 100 years...

Now, who will be the biggest loser?

Most people would start their new year's resolution vowing to put off some weight . I am one of the aforesaid. Nonetheless, after reaching the first yearly quarter; my dreams of wearing tight hugging shirts and slim fitted jeans seem like thousand years away. heck me!

But sometimes the lightning do strike twice. With the right mind (thanks to the SECRET) and positive attitude, I have started imagining myself doing a project runaway for Rizalman Collections. Eversince the body have started to react for such thoughts and I am inspired once again to start my most forgetful resolution!

Moreover, me and my milla are now religiously attached to the Biggest Loser Show showing daily on channel 702 Astro. The show one way or another connected well with us and we are glued in front of the tv set everytime. Most memorable moment during the show would be when the host mentioning ' Your previous weight was... and now you are....'. Everytime a contestant lose weight, we could catch a glimpse of lasting cheer and satisfaction on his/her face. After what they have endured and gone through without favour and much pain, losing weight is their greatest reward.

Currently my weight is 104kg. My BMI stands at 29.4
Another 0.6pts, I can consider myself an obese!
My fat percentage is 34.3% and i need to reduce my fat mass down to 20%. That is 14.3% fat reduction.
I'm targeting 10% weight loss from my current weight; leveraging myself to 94kg. It seems a realistic target for now.
Whether i would succeed in my quest or not.. you guys out there will be the judge..
and we will see who's really the biggest loser!

p/s: If you see the column Predicted Weight: 83.3kg on the sheet, it is definitely way out off my league. If I were ever reduce to 80kg, definitely I am a Rizalman model material ahaks!

Ask Morkymoqq (2) : 2 Bukit 1 Batang

Dear morky,

Yesterday's tri by-elections proved yet again that BN hasn't grasp back people's heart. The status quo remained with 1 BN - 2 PR. It is so obvious at the current state, BN is no longer the ONLY choice for the voters in representing them. With the by-election results stand at PR 4 to BN 1 after the 'political tsunami' last year, BN as a coalition of respectives etnic-based parties have to make great reforms and big changes within themselves before hit back for another round of by-election. I do hope we should take a break (from by-election) and focus more on the upcoming recession crisis. Nevertheless we could only hope, the destiny written is not ours to know. Btw, what's your take on this political dynamics which has occured to our nation thus far?

Encik Pengundi 'Hantu'
Bukit Merah

Dear Encik Pengundi 'Hantu',

I wish you well and hopefully you are safe and sound back home after 'doing  your part' at respective polling centre. I'm sure you were one of the phantom voters who managed to get your way through and casted your vote. Unfortunately your vote didn't help to swing any result to the ruling party. Unless you were casting in Batang Ai, were you?! hmmm... Don't bother to answer.

Well my take on the current political state is simple. The ruling party aka BN have to accept that they are now taking on a formidable pact (PR) that have great will, determinations and people aspirations in their hand. PR is no longer used to be Barisan Alternatif, Gagasan Rakyat or even Angkatan Perpaduan Ummah alliance anymore which BN can simply taken head on. PR is a real deal that offer a CHOICE to rakyat which BN should respect and be cautious too.

BN got a clear signal from 2 bukits and a thorough soul searching has to be undertaken within the component parties. It should be taken as a collective responsibilities amongst the components and not putting any blaming to respective party for such lost. Yet the root cause of the problem must be address. If the problem lies in UMNO with its power crazy, racist remarks, corruption and other negative perception, the UMNO president and the Chairman of BN has to take swift action. If the problem lies in MIC as irrelevant party to represent Indians and the need to change the undemocratic election of its leader then by all means the BN Chairman and other party president amongst BN election has to speak up and make changes. If the Chinese voices were swinging to the 'dark' side, MCA, Gerakan and the other Chinese based BN component party need the address the issue in a proper manner not simply 'summarising' up that the Chinese want to be heard more in the government thus asking extra cabinet seat etc. Dont ever betray the compromises made by our fore fathers about respecting others whilst earning your self respect.

Overall, my take  can be summarised as per my friend message in 8 long smses as follows;
"Voters under 40 years old rejected BN totally! BN needs a new way of campaigning approach that won't misuse government media to potray themselves as gods whilst the others are utter demons. It has backfired and created sympathy votes towards PR. People now want facts, intellectual discussion and new hope in a gentlemanly way of campaigning. Then, rakyat will surely come back to BN "

It is about time for BN  to come with fresh faces and new icon. BN leaders must understand their Y.B. title is no longer a Yang Berhormat but a title that come with great responsibility, amanah and people friendly.

I would prefer them to be address Yang Berkhidmat instead. :)

When hippie wannabe goes marching...

It could have been a straight forward journey back to KL. It should have taken us a four hours max but we ended up arriving in KL ten hours late. You'd wonder why? how? what a sluggish car i have?! (yes, admitted if compared to tut... refer kaler tema) yet it's all not about the destination;  it was about the wonderful journey back to KL for a bunch of brady's like us. :)

I decided to take a longer route or jalan dalam instead of a typical highway journey.  We kicked start our journey heading to Selama, Perak to visit my ummi who lived in a small kampung called Banggol Jas. The place are very close to my heart and i was taken aback by the serene ambiance and beautiful countryside. This is the place i would go for my 'annual pilgrimage' every hari raya to enjoy the mouth-watering sambal masak that goes well with ikan keli bakar. Yum2!

From Selama, Perak we headed to Pondok Tanjung which is well known for its forest reserves. This was  later confirmed by our first encounter with the penjaga hutan who seem not welcoming our presence there.  Due to its population, the place looked deserted and the monkeys were really conquering all places.

Jangan tegur!

dedicated signage for them too!

As we past the reserves, we reached the heart of this small town, a small sub station of KTM. In my early MCKK years, I used  to travel on Mel Train ( a low fare and slow train) from Kuala Kangsar to Penang. Pondok Tanjung was one of the sub station the mel  would stop for at least 10 minutes before lurching down towards Penang and passing through the captivating Tasik Merah.

Yes, I am ketua stesen.

gadis kota tiba di desa..

Calon2 biggest losers

We should have arrived in KL by 8 pm then but due to the photo2 session we have re-calculated our timing to 8.10pm. That shouldnt be the case anymore as we past Kamunting and Taiping and got very excited. We ended up touring the historic town ourselves. Starting with a quick stop at the lake garden and take turn reminiscing old memories riding on a swan; we completed our Taiping visits with a jalan-jalan cari makan at the famous kuey teow doli...
Though it took  us like forever, but i tell you... it's worth the wait.

Hujan kept us away from riding one.

Ultraman tiga

Kuey teow doli special

The rest of the trip can simply be summarised in this short clip. enjoice!

Pak Lah is leaving for good

It 's confirm!
Paklah will retire from his premiership post coming Friday.
If everything goes as plan, he will pass the baton to DS Najib who will be our 6th premier.

I am not laughing nor crying. It is destined.. Paklah will have to step down, and he should!
considering what happened last GE, as the general in command, he should take responsible and exit in a gentleman manner, instead he needed some one like ts muhyiddin to push him out.

I dont pity him. As much as he did it to the other before him... he deserved his judgement.
after all, you already made a hefty fortune even at the very last day on your seat.
That is our Mr Clean 5th PM, Datuk Seri Abdullah or should i address him in advance, Tun Lah!
